ORGANIZATION
READ Foundation is registered with the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) as a not-for-profit company under the Companies Ordinance, 1984. It has Tax Exemption Status with the Central Board of Revenue (CBR). READ Foundation is certified by the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP) based on three key parameters: Governance, Financial practices and Program Delivery.

Programme Goals
Establishing self-sustainable schools in rural areas.
Creating equal opportunities for quality education.
Providing a sociable environment for the underprivileged (orphans & needy).
Regularly updating & revising curricula to meet with the modern-day educational requirements.
Collaborating with other educational NGOs to aid in capacity building.
Encouraging full community participation to help progress educational development.
Mobilizing and organizing aboriginal resources through community.

Board of Directors (BOD)

Mahmood Ahmed (Chairman)
  • Genuinely committed to the educational and economic trends of the country.
  • More than 20 years of practical experience in social development sector.
  • Possesses well-defined managerial and developmental skills.
  • Presently runs a privately owned printing press.
Abdur Rub Khan(CEO)
  • A qualified Chartered Accountant (FCA,CIA,CISA).
  • Has a diversified Management experience with NGOs, Professional Firms & Commercial Organizations.
  • Well-experienced in dealing with financial matters.
  • A keen participant in social welfare and development activities.
  • Former Head of HR and Finance in Islamic Relief Pakistan.
Dr. M. Naeem Qureshi (Sr. Vice Chairman)
  • Assistant Professor of Mathematics at LUMS.
  • Ph. D. in Mathematics.
  • More than sixteen years of teaching experience at university level.
  • Vastly experienced in social welfare and rural development activities.
Prof. Ghulam Mustafa (Vice Chairman)
  • Masters in Economics.
  • Possesses strong leadership abilities.
  • More than 25 years of teaching experience at different levels.
  • Keen in education, training and social welfare and development activities.
Muhammad Ayyub Muslim (Vice Chairman)
  • An eminent businessman and a social worker.
  • A prominent figure in the social circles, fully capable of handling the challenging tasks.
  • Showed remarkable achievements in social welfare activities.
  • Possesses a deep and sincere passion for national development through education.
Muhammad Anwar Abbasi (Secretary General / Treasurer)
  • Possesses master degrees in Economics and Islamic studies.

Extensive banking experience with Habib-Bank & NBP plus over twenty years of affiliation with Saudi-Holland Bank of Saudi Arab.
  • A literary scholar and compiler of two very useful and intriguing publications
Muhammad Fayyaz Khan (member)
  • Law graduate; Master in Educational Planning & Management; Islamic Studies.
  • Highly skilled trainer and facilitator.
  • Former Director of The Message Publications New York, USA.
  • Former Editor of New York based monthly magazine "The Message."
  • Former CEO of an American Company: BMF Services, Inc. Maryland, USA.
  • Former Executive Director of READ Foundation.
